I will buy the game but I don't know yet on which platform yet. this is idiot but this is also the reason why my mods are not on Steam.įor AoW serie this is not a problem to be on GoG, but for others games this can limit modding like Xcom2 wotc because no SDK. That it is not possible is to upload mods on steam.
The only (and big) advantage of Steam is for Mod, but it is possible to DL mod from Steam even if you are not on Steam. How is it now ? do we have a good control of patchs, versions, and can we play without a steam connexion ? a few year ago it was very difficult to really control the patchs installations. I know that all of this is sometime possible with steam but i'm not sure, that depends on "steam version". I can keep installation files for old versions, in case of problem.
With 4x where a game can last a whole week, it's better. I can apply patch only when i decide it. I can play if i'm off line or if Steam is not accessible - A message like "steam is not accessible, you cannot play" is not acceptable and i already saw it. I usually prefer GoG because (i do not use galaxy) :
